Rwanda is best known for her mountain gorillas. A strictly controlled process exists for human visitors. The gorillas are well known to rangers who check on them daily and ensure no signs of illness, injury, or poachers are present. Habituated families habituated to human presence can be viewed. A maximum of 8 guests are allowed to accompany rangers and watch a gorilla family for up to one hour. You must stay masked for their protection as our gorilla cousins share about 95% of our DNA!
